Primary Cottage Parents

Responsibilities

The responsibility of the Primary Cottage Parents is to establish and maintain positive relationships with and ensure the best possible care for children placed in their care at all times. The position involves the combined efforts of a strong married couple in providing for the total care, teaching, nurturing, training, guiding and supervision of a specific assigned group of dependent, neglected and abused children. The couple must have a secure and healthy marriage with a distinct desire/vision to love and care for hurting children. Each couple will be responsible for six (6) children and youth (long and short term) as residents in an on-campus home.

Requirements

  • Must maintain confidentiality of children/youth and program information at all times.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast paced environment with others and independently.
  • Must possess the ability to make responsible, sound recommendations and decisions under direction and in time of emergency.

Interns

Place of Hope at The Leighan and David Rinker Campus (Boca Raton) has two internship opportunities. These unpaid internships will offer a glimpse into working in a fast paced non-profit environment that revolves around the children and youth we serve.  These openings are available immediately.

Responsibilities

  • Interns will assist with the day to day office and campus administration as well as assist with database management, greeting and talking to visitors and donors, handling phone calls and any other tasks assigned.
  • Interns will assist with social media, graphics, writing, proofreading, newsletters, and marketing materials.
  • Interns will help plan and execute on campus events, including set up, coordination of registration and refreshments, and follow up post event.
  • Interns will assist with major events off campus (which could involve evening or weekend hours) giving the opportunity to learn the inner workings of planning and executing a successful fundraising event.
  • Interns will have the opportunity to interact with volunteers and visitors to the campus on a regular basis.

Requirements

  • Must have excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication and overall administrative skills.
  • Must possess strong organization and technical skills.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast paced environment with others and indecently.
  • Work hours are Monday through Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM and we can be flexible regarding schedule.
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 15 hours per week.

Extended Foster Care Resident Assistant

Responsibilities

The E.F.C. Resident Assistant shall reside within the E.F.C. house and be responsible for supplying support and oversight for six young adult males, under the direction of the Residential Program Manager and in accordance with approved policies and procedures. This is not a paid position, but includes room and board.

Requirements

  • Must possess experience with the population.
  • Must possess strong verbal, written, interpersonal communication and overall administrative skills.
  • Must become familiar with, understand and uphold all confidentiality and abuse reporting requirements.
  • Must be available to be present the majority of evenings and weekends, overnight.

Female Relief Parent

Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of the Female Relief Parent is to provide primary care in a relief capacity for the Professional (Primary Care) Parents. In this capacity, they will establish and maintain positive relationships with and ensure the best possible care for children placed in their care at all times. The position involves the effort of a qualified individual in providing for the total care, teaching, nurturing, training, guiding and supervision of a specific assigned group of dependent, neglected and abused children.

Requirements

  • Individual must have/be: 1) high school diploma or equivalent (some college credits/courses preferred); 2) previous child care experience; 3) at least 21 years of age.
  • Must maintain confidentiality of children/youth and program information at all times.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a fast paced environment with others and independently.
  • Must possess the ability to make responsible, sound recommendations and decisions under direction and in time of emergency.
  • Must demonstrate qualities that enable effective interaction with children in group care, enjoy working as team members, and endeavor to meet the varying needs of each child within the organizational guidelines.

Advancement and Business Assistant

We currently have an opportunity on our team for a dynamic and highly organized Advancement and Business Assistant. This role, unique to our Boca Raton campus, serves as the first point of contact for our donors, supporters, clients and volunteers while supporting our Advancement Team with event planning and administrative support. Seeking high energy, friendly and outgoing individual who is interested in growing with our organization into a development and fundraising role. The Advancement and Business Assistant serves as an excellent entry level role within Place of Hope.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree with some experience working in an office environment and support role
  • Proficient in Excel and Word
  • Strong communication skills, multi task oriented, articulate and business minded
  • Familiarity with all social media platforms, creative, process oriented, resourceful and friendly
  • Must be highly organized and able to multitask in a fast paced work environment
  • Familiarity with basic accounts receivable and payable is a plus
